What remains unknown
NOT VALIDATED- Actual solid-carbon yield is unknown.
- CO production and other product identities are unknown.
- Metal recovery fraction is unknown.
- Practical regeneration energy is unknown.
- Ga–In operating composition is not established.
- The full solar-regenerated recycling system remains unverified.
Model assumptions
A simplified material-accounting hypothesis, not proof that this reaction occurs. The idealized regeneration equation is Ga₂O₃ → 2Ga + 3/2 O₂. Neither equation validates the proposed full cycle.
Carbon estimate = CO₂ feed × duration × assumed conversion × assumed solid-carbon selectivity × 12.01/44.01. The theoretical carbon ceiling is about 273 g per kg CO₂. Hypothetical Ga throughput is about 2.11 kg per kg CO₂ converted by the assumed equation — not necessarily fresh consumption if recycling works.
Baseline conversion 65%, selectivity 70%, recovery 90% and regeneration energy 8 kWh/kg metal are scenario inputs, not validated chemistry. Presets are arbitrary educational comparisons. Temperature, pressure and gas flow do not determine conversion in this simplified model. Feed and gas flow are independent controls.
Other-product carbon-equivalent and oxygen-equivalent preserve elemental accounting without assigning products. Ga-throughput assumes the equation’s stoichiometric ratio for all converted CO₂; alternative product chemistry and indium are not modeled. Synthetic chart ripples are visual illustrations, not predictions.
Runs and events are held in this browser tab only. Refresh clears the session. Reset restores baseline inputs and clears history; theme is preserved. Auto-run repeats the selected scenario until stopped.
Glossary
Conversion
Assumed share of input CO₂ allocated to the converted stream.
Selectivity
Assumed fraction of converted carbon-equivalent assigned to solid carbon.
Carbon-equivalent
Mass of carbon atoms allocated to a stream, not total product mass.
Metal throughput
Ga-equivalent mass passing through the hypothetical cycle; not necessarily consumed fresh metal.
Regeneration
An unverified proposed step to return oxidized metal to its reusable form.
